Joel Reyes, CM

Joel Reyes is a Safety and Occupational Health Manager at Military Sealift Command Headquarters in Norfolk, VA.  He is responsible for implementing a comprehensive Safety Management System and ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations.

Prior to joining the federal civil service in 2018, Joel served in the United States Navy as a Meteorologist and Oceanographer for over 22 years.  He retired from the US Navy with the rank of Chief Petty Officer.  After his military service, he worked as a contractor in the private sector, Weather Forecaster for Atmospheric Science Technology LLC, and Training Analyst for Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC).

Mr. Reyes currently serves on the Board of Regents for the Institute of Certified Professional Managers since 2017.

Joel holds a Master of Science degree in Emergency Services Management from Columbia Southern University and a Bachelor of Arts in Natural Science and Mathematics from Thomas Edison State University.  He is a Certified Manager (CM) and Certified Safety Manager (CSM).
